In Amplify, a structural hierarchy organizes work so that every activity can be traced back to the organization's strategic goals. At the highest level, broad strategic objectives or entities are defined. These are broken down into programs or portfolios that group related initiatives, and within those, projects are created to deliver specific outcomes through defined tasks and actions.
This layered structure creates a clear line of sight from strategy to execution. Leaders can see how initiatives support organizational goals, teams understand the purpose of their work, and reporting can be rolled up or drilled down at any level.
Viewing the hierarchy
Open the hierarchy by clicking the Hierarchy button in the top bar, or by pressing H on your keyboard.
This opens an overview of your hierarchy as a tree diagram.
The diagram displays every item currently accessible to you. Each item shows brief information about itself and indicates whether there are items nested below it. There are also several tools to help you customize this view.
