Amplify lets you create rules that automatically assign teams to projects.
Assignment rules are defined by reporting group selections. Setting up a rule for a project team links that team to one or more reporting groups. Whenever a new project is created within one of those groups, the linked team is automatically assigned — so the right people always have access to the right projects, whether a team is restricted to certain groups or available across the program's whole hierarchy.
Define assignment rules only after adding team members — once assignment rules are defined, any user added to the team gets access to the team's mapped projects.
To create an assignment rule:
- Select the project team to apply the rule to.
Selecting a project team. - Click New Assignment.
The New Assignment button. - Give the rule a name. The fields below show the program's pre-configured reporting groups — click a field to see its options.
Naming the rule and viewing reporting group fields. - Select the reporting group options mapped to the project you want the team to access.
Selecting reporting group options. - Click Save.
This defines the assignment rule for the team. All its users now have access to the projects mapped to the same reporting group options specified in the rule. Where a team has no assignment rules set up, its users can view the program but can't access its projects.
