Release date: 1 February 2025
It's now easier than ever to calculate Benefits with multiple inputs. We've overhauled the user experience for calculating Benefits with multiple Measures when using the Advanced Amplify model.
These enhancements will be available for all Benefits under a Benefit Classification that uses the "Benefit Formula". All existing simple Benefits will continue to function as they have previously.
Benefit Classification Improvements
Benefit Classifications now dynamically display relevant configuration options based on whether the Benefit Classification uses a Benefit Formula. When the Benefit Formula is disabled, Measure configuration is set on the Benefit, inheriting settings from the Benefit Classification upon creation. If the Benefit Formula is enabled, all series data and Measure-related settings are managed through the Measure Classifications.
Measure Classification Improvements
Gain finer control over your Measures with enhanced Measure Classifications. Previously reliant on inherited settings from Benefits, Measures now boast more configurable options directly within their Classification. You can now independently manage key aspects such as Start and End Dates, Measurement Unit, Reporting Cadence, the Plan series type, Forecast enablement, and whether Actuals need to be recorded.
Initiative Classification Improvements
Initiative Classifications have been updated to conditionally allow enabling a Measures Register and for mapping Measure Classifications. This determines which standalone Measure types can be created on Initiatives. The option to map Measure Classifications becomes available only when a Benefit Classification mapped to the Initiative Classification uses the Benefit Formula. This ensures a simplified configuration experience for users who don't utilize formulas.
Measures Register
When enabled on the Initiative Classification, the Measures Register provides a card view of all standalone Measures created on that Initiative. Users can create standalone Measures directly from the Measures Register. Note that the Measures Register only displays Measures created directly on the Initiative and does not include Measures from child Initiatives or shared from the Enterprise. Currently, only the card view is supported; table and ledger views are not currently available.
Creating & Editing Benefits using Formulas
When the Benefit Formula is enabled under a Benefit Classification, users can define the contributing Measures and the formula used to calculate Benefit values. This is now integrated into the Benefit creation process and can be edited on the Benefit itself, offering greater flexibility than the previous method of controlling formulas at the Benefit Classification level. Both Initiative-level and Enterprise-wide Measures can be used in Benefit Formulas. Measure values can be updated independently and Amplify will automatically calculate the Benefit value. Permissions for updating Initiative-level Measure series data aligns with Benefit edit permissions, while updating Enterprise-wide Measures requires access to the Enterprise with Benefit edit permissions.
Measures Fast Load
The new Measure Fast Load functionality enables users to create both Enterprise-wide and Initiative-level Measures and update their properties, as well as all Measure series data (Enterprise-wide, Initiative-level, and Benefit-specific) via a convenient Excel spreadsheet upload. A Measures API will be available in a future release.
