Use your Initiative or Program's Teams menu (under Teams & Roles) to add members to your team and assign roles. You can create multiple teams for each initiative.
Amplify supports two types of team: the Initiative team, and Shared Teams. Amplify doesn't allow a user to own an item unless they're part of its team, so to create initiatives and assign ownership, add users to one of these team types.
Initiative team
Each initiative has its own, exclusive team. In the Simple Model, these are named by level instead — a Program team at the top, and Project teams below it.
Any user in an initiative's own team can access the whole structure beneath it, including its projects and other items. Allocate only the privileged users to the top-level team — other users can be added to teams at the levels below.
Ideally, the team at the top level should consist of key stakeholders — those who handle the initiative's budget and planning, set goals, or oversee multiple projects, without needing to stay updated on day-to-day tasks. A team member at the top level has access to all dashboards there.
Program administrators, portfolio managers, sponsors, and other senior managers should be part of the top-level team.
Teams at lower levels should contain members who are more likely to be benefit, cost, or task owners, or responsible for maintaining data at that level.
See Adding Team Members to add users, and Defining Assignment Rules to automatically assign project teams as new projects are created.
Shared teams
An Amplify administrator can set up shared teams using the global administration module. Any initiative in the system can use a shared team. See Managing Shared Teams for how to create, configure, and use them.
