White lists
One of the key enhancements that we have rolled out in this version is the capability to white list associations allowed for an initiative classification. If you need to limit the associations on your initiatives, such as the type of benefits that can be defined, type of goals, costs, or RAID items, white lists are what you are looking for. Read on for more information.
Distinct Benefit Types per Initiative
Previously, selecting the Enable Local Benefits setting meant allowing an initiative to have any Benefit classification associated with it. From Amplify version 19.6 onwards, when you enable local benefits, you can also specify which benefit classifications are allowed for that initiative classification. Enable Local Benefits setting will now display a selection box.
When you select benefit classifications 1, 2, and 3 in that selection box, you are restricting all other benefits classifications from being created for that initiative type. However, if there exists a sub initiative, that belongs to another classification, the above rule does not apply, as it can have its own white listed benefit types. Please note that not specifying anything in the Allowed Benefit Classification selection box would mean that you do not wish to create any benefit for initiatives of that classification.
Define RAID Classifications Allowed for an Initiative
Similar in concept to the previous enhancement, specific RAID items can now be mapped to each initiative classification. Enable Local RAID Items setting allows you to select which RAID classifications are allowed for a type of initiative. Please note that this setting does not restrict you to assign risks created under an initiative to another initiative or benefit that has Enable Local RAID Items setting disabled.
White list Costs
Allow only specific cost categories of your choice for every initiative classification. With this setting configured, the cost Sub menu on your Initiative shows only those cost categories that are allowed for that initiative classification. The same restriction gets applied when you use import/export or integration functions.
Define Local Goals
Select the Goal types that are permitted for an initiative classification. Restrict all other types of goals from being attached to that initiative.
View Forecast without Performance Penalty
If you were looking to see Forecast values without calculations in the background, this new classification setting could be your solution. Previously, if there were a measure FMO and ACTUAL values for a point, a penalty value of ACTUAL - FMO was added to the forecast point.
We introduce a new classification setting - Enable Actual affected Forecast, to disable this performance penalty behaviour. Turn the Enable Actual affected Forecast setting off to disable the Actual performance penalty behaviour, which essentially means, the Amplify Forecast will be Actual, where there are values for the period, or Plan, where there are not. This option is available as a Benefit classification setting.
Disregard Delay in Benefit Forecast
When a delivery milestone is linked to a benefit through the Project Benefit Delivery Schedule, changes of dates of that project dashboard delivery milestone will influence the benefit and its measures. The measure forecast can be delayed by the largest delay of associated benefits. This could previously be turned off at an individual measure level on the Formula Builder page, but you now can configure this at the classification level.
Remove and Hide Cost Forecast Series
Two configuration settings have been introduced that allow you to remove forecast series calculation and, or hide forecasts on cost charts.
- Enable Forecast: Allows you to enable or disable forecast series calculation for Costs.
- Hide Cost Forecast: Allows you to hide the forecast series on Cost charts.
To disable and hide forecast values from Cost charts:
- Go to Administration>Classifications.
- Select the Cost Category for which forecast has to be disabled.
- Make sure that Enable Forecast setting is not selected on the interface.
- Next, navigate to classification setting for the initiative.
- Select Hide Cost Forecast setting.
To verify that your settings are applied :
View the Investment Dashboard for the initiative classification filtered on Costs. Forecast values will be removed from the Dashboard.
Replace Budget with Actual Values
This setting, if enabled enforces budget values to be actual values on the cost data entry page.
Delivery Threats Pagination
Delivery threats listed on the Performance Dashboard caused rendering issues as the list got larger, especially when viewed at the Enterprise level. Delivery threats list is now paginated. The first ten items will be displayed by default on your dashboard. If you have a bigger list, use the arrow buttons at the bottom of the list to scroll through.
Improved Translations Interface
Translations interface has been redesigned to ensure greater performance and enhanced usability. The Search box on the top allows you to search for labels easily. Labels belonging to the same type of data are grouped under a common parent label forming a tree view. Intuitive sort and filter options enable you to organise and locate values quickly.
Other Enhancements
- Revised Colours on Dashboards: We have picked new colours to represent Baseline and forecast series on graphs of all dashboards and parent task on the Gantt chart.
- Mitigation/Action Plan label for Risks is now translatable. This label appears on RAID Register, RAID Dashboard, RAID table, and Risk Creation interface.
- A Confirmation message displays before deleting any item from within Administration Settings interface. Clicking on the Cancel button will cancel the delete operation.
- Saved table views are sorted alphabetically. When you have saved custom table views, they are listed at two places: the sub-menu list and the view selector drop-down list at the top left-hand corner of the table view. This list will not be alphabetically sorted. This is applicable for initiatives, benefits, Risk Table Views.
Issues Resolved
Issue key | Summary |
AMP-8090 | Report Dashboard no longer limits which baselines to be shown as filter options. |
AMP-8136 | Date format custom field on Properties Dashboard can be cleared. |
AMP-8202 | The Mismatch between the dates displayed on Benefit table view and the Edit benefit form is fixed. |
AMP-8210 | Goal baseline series includes financial and non-financial benefits |
AMP-8194 | Invalid child initiative mappings prevent classification form from saving have been eliminated and the issue is fixed. |
AMP-7755 |
Circular dependencies between parent and child tasks are no longer supported. For example, if you have a parent task that has a dependency on its child task1 and the child task 1 on task 2, you cannot define another dependency from the child task 2 back to the parent task as this would create a circular dependency.
With the Use Summary tasks setting turned on, it is not possible to create dependencies between parent(summary) and child tasks. |
AMP-8152 |
My Tasks count no longer includes completed initiatives and tasks. |
AMP-8198 |
The New Task interface now has a Type drop-down that allows you to specify if this is going to be a Task or a milestone. |
AMP-8199 |
Pending risk approvals widget shows pending approvals that are assigned to that item or any of its descendants. |
AMP-8191 |
Accurate Quarter labelling regardless of the start date of the object. |
AMP-8220 |
Scenario planner saves selected initiatives correctly. |
AMP- 8170 |
History table now records the audit trail if a user was deleted. |
AMP-8136 |
Users can clear custom fields from Properties dashboard. |
AMP-8139 |
Investment Dashboard now shows the current filter labels on saved views dynamically, which means, if the user changes the filter settings on a saved view, the filter label updates as per the current selections. |
AMP-8175 |
Session timeouts periods can be customised. |
AMP-8195 |
Stages from disabled processes no longer appear on investment dashboard filters. |
