Schedule Enhancements
We have done the following key bug fixes/ enhancements in the Gantt interface.
Ability to Drag Excel and Project files onto the Schedule to Import
This capability was removed when we moved to the new Gantt interface with version 20.6. We have reinstated this behaviour in this version.
Ability to Import MPP file from the Circular Dependencies Modal
For some of our customers who were on earlier versions of Amplify, circular dependencies on the Gantt created a peculiar issue. When a schedule has circular dependencies, upon loading the Gantt a window pops up that allows the user to delete dependencies to try and undo the cycle. When there are entirely too many dependencies in the cycle, and only the first few dependencies are visible, it was not easy to undo it. The main cause of the problem was that we were importing 'inactivated' tasks, something we fixed in r20.7.
In cases where the schedule is managed through Microsoft Project, it would be easier to allow the user to import the MPP file again, let Amplify import the schedule without the inactivated tasks, and the schedule will be fixed. However, this is not possible as the dependency window blocks the UI and does not let the user interact with the schedule.
To manage this situation,
- An Import button has been added on the cyclic dependencies pop up, which will enable users to import schedule files.
- The cyclic dependencies window has been made scrollable, displaying all the dependencies causing the circular dependency along with the buttons at the bottom.
Row Limit for Bulk Import
Integrations now imposes a limit of 2000 rows of data. This limit is applied to an individual sheet. If your data set exceeds this limit we recommend that you divide the data into multiple sheets and run the integration in consecutive sessions.
Issues Resolved
Issue key | Summary |
AMP - 893 |
We've tuned up our archive/restore/delete processes to reduce the feedback time. Currently, when a user archives, restores or deletes an item, the same action is applied to all descendant items in the same request. Depending on how high-level the item is this can actually take quite a long time and potentially even time out. A similar technique will apply in case of the restore operation. |

Pasting data into ledger clears the first cell in the next row. We have corrected this behaviour. |
AMP-985 | We have fixed an issue on the Gantt chart where the outdent functionality would allow tasks to be outdented outside of the root. The fix will ensure that the outdent operation will not apply to any selected task that is at the first level in the task tree. |
AMP-945 | Archived initiatives appear for selection in the Predecessor entry field, making it possible to create dependencies on archived initiatives. |
AMP - 950 | The banner indicating the item is archived was not displaying for child objects of a project that was archived. We have fixed this. |
AMP-951 |
Long custom field labels cause the Gantt columns menu to break on small screens. If a long label name is used for a custom field (up to 120 chars are allowed) the visible columns in the Columns menu will be extra large and will hide after scrolling on small screens. The fix crops the length of field labels to fit it in the menu appropriately. |
AMP-982 | Changing the sub-locale to English (Germany) resulted in Date fields on a few forms to show wrong value. This issue has been resolved. |
AMP-987 | Modifying Task Type on the Gantt was not possible with inline editing. We have fixed this. |
AMP-994 | Benefit values display incorrectly when the decimal separator is configured as a comma instead of a dot. We have fixed this issue. |
AMP - 1031 | When disabling costs in the classification form, a message displays that a certain number of costs will be deleted if you choose to proceed. Our fix will display the cost count correctly. |
AMP-1063 | We fixed an error that occurred when changing a task to milestone with the date changed in the task form. |
