Initiative Submissions lets you suggest a new initiative — an idea, a request, or an improvement — through a short form. Your submission is created as an initiative in Amplify, where it can be reviewed before it goes ahead.
This article covers both the Advanced and Simple Models. Initiative Submissions needs to be turned on, and set up, for your organization — see Configuring Initiative Submissions.
Opening the form
- Guest users — the form is your home page, and opens when you sign in. It's the only part of Amplify guest users can use. See Guest Users.
- Everyone else — open the form from the link your organization shares.
Your organization may share a link that's already set to one place, such as your business unit's. The form then doesn't ask where to submit.
Submitting an initiative
To submit an initiative:
- Open the Submit An Initiative form.
- Under Initiative Details, choose where to submit it from Submit Under, such as your business unit or program.
- Choose the kind of initiative from Type.
- Where the form asks for reporting groups, choose an option from each.
- Enter a Name, of up to 120 characters.
- Fill in any additional fields below. Required fields must be filled in.
- Click Submit.
Submit Under isn't shown where there's only one place to submit to, or the link you opened already sets it. Type isn't shown where there's only one kind of initiative to choose. Reporting groups are only asked for when submitting to a program that uses them.
Once it's submitted, Initiative Submitted Successfully is shown. To submit another, click Submit Another Initiative.
What happens to a submission
Your submission is created as an initiative in the place you chose. Its owner is the owner of that place — for example, the business unit's owner — and its dates run from the start to the end of the month you submitted it in, until they're changed. From there, it can be reviewed, and taken forward as a project.
Your account
Guest users can edit a few details of their own account. Click your account icon, and select My Account. On Edit your Amplify Account, you can change your avatar, and your language where your organization uses more than one. Your name and email address come from your organization's sign-in, so they can't be changed here.
If the form isn't available
- Cannot Access Submission Form — Initiative Submissions isn't turned on for your organization, or isn't set up yet. Contact your administrator.
- A page that can't be found — the link you opened is set to a place that doesn't take submissions. Ask whoever shared it for the current link.
- Guest users signed out on sign-in — where submissions are closed, guest users are signed out again straight away, with a message to contact the person who invited them.
For setting up Initiative Submissions, see Configuring Initiative Submissions.
