New Features
Initiative Owner as a Role
Initiative Owners will now inherit a Role named 'Owner' which can be configured under âRoles & Permissionsâ in the Administration section, just like any other role.Â
The Owner role grants organizations greater control over the permissions given to Initiative Owners without interrupting any existing functionality.Â
This release will include a comprehensive data migration to ensure there are no disruptions to existing Initiative Owner access and expectations.
The Owner role is not able to be given to any user manually, and is only inherited by users which are set to be the Owner using the standard Owner input fields in places like Initiative Properties or Project Brief. In addition, Initiative Owners will now appear in an Initiatives 'Teams and Roles' section with an icon on their user card - signifying that they are the Initiative Owner.
This change applies to both Classic Model and Program Model.
Mark Workflow Approval Steps as 'Not Required'
Recent development to the Stage Gate Approvals in Release 25.8.0 enabled administrators to restrict which users were able to modify workflow approvers based on their assigned role within the Initiative team.
This role-based permission has now been extended to allow users to mark entire steps as âNot Requiredâ, which keeps the workflow step visible on, but does not require an approval.Â
Use this functionality to create more flexible approval workflows which can be adjusted by trusted roles to suit particular risk, monetary, or resource thresholds. For a refresher on configuring Workflows, head to our knowledge base article: What are workflows? - Amplify
Enhancements
Schedule - Display Item Labels on Gantt
When viewing the Schedule, it could often be hard to keep track of which bar relates to which item row, especially for Schedules with more data.Â
In 25.9.0 weâre bringing in a new feature that allows users to display Item Labels on the Schedule. This will place the name of the item to the left of the task bar on the gantt chart.Â
The Task Label will also include an icon for each entity (Initiative, Benefit, Cost, etc.) to allow users to quickly identify the type of schedule item and will be included on schedule exports.
You can enable or disable the Item Labels through the existing Filter dropdown.
Schedule - Critical Path Filtering
The Critical Path is a feature provided by our Schedule tool that highlights initiatives or tasks which could impact the date of project delivery. On large schedules however, they can often be lost in a sea of other tasks.Â
This enhancement grants users the ability to filter the schedule by only those items which are part of the critical path through the introduction of a new filterable âCriticalâ column.Â

RAID Action Item Filtering
Users are now able to filter for RAID Action Items on the Schedule and Tasks Table through the 'Classification' column filters.
Ledger Views - Null Values as '-'
Ledgers would previously display empty cells for multiple reasons â usually when there was no data entered yet for that cell. This had the potential to lead to confusion when interpreting ledgers and presented some readability/accessibility concerns for users.
To solve this, weâre removing the ambiguity of empty cells by displaying a dash (-) in cells where a value is expected but not yet provided. This enhancement is a clear signifier that a value may be entered by the user and improves the overall legibility of the ledger.
