Resource Management as a Classification
Resource Types now behave like other Initiative entities (such as Benefits, Costs, and RAID), making them easier to configure and manage through Administration.
Administrators can disable/enable Resource Demand on Initiative Classifications directly from the General Configuration tab, define which Resource Types are available, and optionally enable the Resource Register to view roll-up data without allowing local demand creation.
Configuration options now appear only when relevant, and redundant settings have been streamlined or removed. Existing setups will be migrated automatically to ensure a smooth transition.

Map Resource Types to Users
Users can now be directly linked to Resource Types, making Resource Demand, Allocation, and Capacity planning easier to manage. Assigning a Resource Type to a User (such as Project Manager) allows demand requests to be filtered to named resources, helps categorize users for clearer planning, and enables individual capacity (FTE) to be configured per role.
Capacity and relevant custom fields are managed per User and Resource Type, ensuring consistency across Demand and Allocation workflows. If a Resource Type is removed from a user, existing demand remains intact while allocations are automatically updated, keeping plans accurate without manual clean-up.

Resource Management Permissions Updates
Resource permissions have been split into clearer, more flexible controls for Resource Demand Register Access, Demand, Allocation, and Resource Capacity.Â
Admins can now configure more tailored roles that better suit their governance needs, ensuring that users have the access they need to complete their tasks, without granting unnecessary access elsewhere.Â
All existing roles have been migrated to the new structure, so there’s no change to current access by default.

Updates to the Resource Demand Ledger
There is a new Resource Demand Ledger which gives both Resource Managers and Initiative Owners a clearer shared view of resourcing across their relevant Initiatives.
Resource Managers can use the ledger to easily review Initiative Resource Demands, current Resource Capacity, and allocate Resources to fulfill Demand in one place. The ledger features roll-ups and visual indicators to quickly identify under- or over-allocation to address conflicts before they become issues.
For Initiative Owners, the ledger provides visibility into Resources which have been allocated to their Initiatives, as well as a place to update time-phased demand data. available capacity of Resources.

Increased Visibility in the Schedule Histogram
The Schedule now provides clearer, more actionable insight into resource demand, allocation, and assignment, helping Initiative Owners and Resource Managers plan Initiatives and Projects with confidence.
The Histogram section of the Schedule now displays each user’s Resource Type, the status of a Resource Demands approval (e.g. pending), and uses visual indicators to help Resource Managers and Initiative Owners understand the capacity and availability of their Resources across Initiatives. These changes make it easier to assign the right people to tasks and avoid over-assigning resources beyond their allocated capacity.

Resource Demand Workflows
We’re introducing approval workflows to Resource Demand to provide quick and easy governance to Resource Demand Requests.
Resource Demand approvals work similarly to existing Item Approval workflows and allow for flexible combinations of Self Approval, Any Approval Advances, and Unanimous Approval workflow steps.Â
Additionally, the current Approval Status of Resource Demands are now surfaced across the application on Table and Ledger Views, Resource Demand side sheets, and the Schedule/Histogram.

Enhancements
Alternate End Stages Displayed by Default of the Stage Gate Widget
Based on user feedback, we’ve updated the Stage Gate Widget (found on Project Brief and Performance Dashboard pages) to always be in the expanded state, with alternate end stages on full display.
This change improves user clarity and understanding by putting alternate end stages front-of-mind and reduces clicks and visual complexity on the view.
