Your Amplify license sets how many people can use Amplify, when your subscription runs until, and which modules you have. You can see it under Administration > Amplify License. The license itself is set up and renewed by Amplify-Now.
This article covers both the Advanced and Simple Models, and needs administrator access, or an admin role with access to Amplify License — see Admin Roles.
Viewing your license
To view your license, navigate to Administration > Amplify License. The Amplify License Information page shows:
- Number of Users — how many unlocked users the license allows.
- Expiry Date — when the license runs until.
- Custom Dashboard Service — Yes where custom dashboards are included in your license. See Custom Dashboards.
The page is view-only. The number of users and the expiry date are also shown on the Administration > Overview page — see Administration Overview.
Who counts toward your license
- Counted — every active user who isn't locked, including the Amplify Owner user, and every user of the reporting API.
- Not counted — locked users, and guest users. See Guest Users.
The number currently counted is shown as Licensed Users, on the Overview page.
Reaching your user limit
Once your organization has as many users as the license allows, new users can't be created, and locked users can't be unlocked. Amplify shows a message with your limit instead — for example, License only allows 50 unlocked users.
To make room for someone new, either:
- lock a user who no longer needs access — see Managing Users; or
- ask your Customer Success Manager to increase your license.
Guest users can always be created and unlocked, as they don't count toward the license.
When your license expires
After the expiry date, administrators see Your Amplify license has expired. Please contact Amplify Support to resolve this issue as they use Amplify. To renew it, speak to your Customer Success Manager.
Changing your license
Your license is set up, renewed, and changed by Amplify-Now — for example, to add users, extend its expiry date, or add a module. To change it, speak to your Customer Success Manager.
For managing your users, see Managing Users.
