The Reporting API enables reporting tools such as PowerBI, SAP Analytics Cloud, Oracle Analytics Cloud, and SQL Server Reporting Services to access Amplify data via API Views. It offers a convenient way for our internal and third-party report developers to access the data that they need without approaching the Amplify team for support.
The interface offers simplified datasets. You don't need to run complex queries to obtain data as the views contain the most frequently used data extracted by combining multiple queries.
Guaranteed forward compatibility is another advantage. You don't have to worry if the dataset's structure changes as it will not affect your ongoing work.
You’ll need the following to get started.
- Whitelisted IP addresses to access the Amplify database as the firewall typically blocks all IP addresses. To whitelist your IP address, access Amplify's Administration section and select Firewall & API tab. See Managing the API Firewall for more information.
- API user credentials. Amplify administrators can create API users from within the application. For more information, see Setting up API Users.
- Access to Amplify with the appropriate role. The API user account will have the same access permissions as your Amplify account.
