The Timeline page is a handy feature if you want to track the history of updates made by yourself or other users in the system. If you are puzzled about why a particular project data is modified since you saw it last or which approvers have approved a request, etc., this is the place to look.
Amplify allows you to view the transactional history of initiatives, benefits and RAID items.
The Timeline page can be accessed through the main menu on most pages.
The above screenshot shows the timeline page of an impact/benefit.
You can use the timeline page to track:
- Approvals
- Initiative Completion History
- Cost updates
- Archival changes
- Ownership changes
- Moves
- Comments
- Document uploads
- Updates
- Stage Process
By default, you will be able to view the history of approval changes, comments, documents, updates, and changes in the stage-gate process flow. Select any checkbox to display that information on the page. Use the Comment box to type in any information that you want to save for viewing later.
Approval History
If an initiative, benefit, or dependency workflow is applicable, you will see different history items for each type of action.
If an approval request is Rejected or Approved, you will be able to view the following information under the corresponding header.
- The current approval status
- Approver's name
- Comments added while approving
- Approval response (approved or rejected)
- Response Date and time
- Approved layer
- Date and time of each activity
When an approval request is submitted, you will be able to see:
- The current approval status
- Date and time it was requested
- Approver's name(s)
Initiative Completion History
When an initiative is marked 'Completed', that transaction will appear in the History tab. The history page will display whether the change was performed by the integration function or a user. The date and time of completion will also be captured in this page.
Cost Updates History
A comment line will be added on the initiative History page every time user modifies cost entries. The history comment will show which user updated the cost, which cost profile was updated along with the date and time of modification.
Archival Changes History
To find out if the initiative was archived or restored at some point, select the Archival Changes checkbox. You will see the name of the user that performed the archive or restore action with the date and time.
Ownership Changes History
If the initiative's ownership was changed, you can find out the name of the old and new owner along with the date and time by clicking on Ownership Changes.
Moves History
If the initiative was moved to another position in the hierarchy, you can easily find out the date and time, the user who performed the move and the old and new parent initiatives by enabling the Moves option.
Comments History
The History page allows you to record additional observations and general notes. You can revisit this page to locate the comments entered by you or anyone in the team and find out the date it was recorded.
Documents History
The Documents option allows you review the history of documents that were uploaded and the information pertaining to it including the name of the file, user who uploaded it, size and the date and time when it was uploaded.
Updates History
The Updates option is useful because enabling this will display what updates were done to the initiative's properties. If any team member changed certain data on the Properties tab such the initiative name, start and end date, standard status indicators or baseline, you will be able to see the name of the user, date and time and the details of the current and prior change that happened.
