Use the Goals section under Program Items to define program-wide goals and set a benefit target for each goal. When the team members add goals to their program, they can identify the projects that can contribute towards the goal.

By default, goals are enabled for every new program. Amplify provides an inbuilt template for the default goal type. You are free to modify the settings of the default goal classification to suit your organisation's requirements.
You can also create custom goal classifications with a different set of configurations if required.

Configure Goal Types
You can define multiple goal types if required.
To create a goal type:
- Access the Program.
- From the program menu, select Configuration.
The Configuration menu opens. - Click on the Program Items menu item and then Goals.
- To create a new goal type, click on the New Goal Type button.
- Use the following guidelines to fill out the required fields in the General Configuration tab.
- Name your goal template in the Name field.
- In the Colour field, choose a colour that would represent the goal type across Amplify.

Click on the Save button.
You will now see the goal type in the Goals Overview section. The Advanced tab gets enabled when you click on the Save button. It is possible to configure additional settings on the Properties and Advanced tabs.

On the Properties tab, you can define custom fields that will be used on the Goal form.
Create Custom Fields
If you want to define distinct custom fields on Goal forms, you can use the Properties tab. You can also add shareable global fields into the goal classification to make it available to the end-users.

Options on the Advanced Tab
Enable Attachments
Users can attach documents and images to the goal object. To make this function available, you will need to configure it for the goal type.
Once this setting is enabled, users will see a clip icon on the Goal profile for attaching files.
Delete Goal Types
The Advanced tab also allows you to remove the goal template.
To remove a goal type:
- Access the Program.
- From the program menu, select Configuration.
The Configuration menu opens. - Click on the Program Items menu item and then Goals.
You will see the list of existing types in the Goals Overview section.
- Locate the goal type that you wish to delete.
- Click on the Edit "pen" icon and select the Advanced tab.
- Click on the Remove button.
This will bring up a confirmation window. - Click Delete to confirm the action.
The goal type is now removed from the program.
View and Modify Existing Goal Types
Once you create a goal classification, it will be listed in the Goals Overview section. You can use the Edit "pen" icon here to modify the existing configurations.
Modifying allows you to:
- edit the name of the classification
- choose a different colour to represent the classification
- add or modify custom data fields
- enable users to attach documents and images to the goal profile
To modify a goal classification:
- Access the Program.
- From the program menu, select Configuration.
The Configuration menu opens. - Click on the Program Items menu item and then Goals.
You will see the list of existing classifications under the Goals Overview section.
- Locate the goal classification that you wish to modify.
- Click on the Edit "pen" icon.
- You can modify the name and colour.
- Use the Properties tab to create or modify custom fields that will appear on the goal data capture forms.
- Use the Advanced tab enable or disable attachments.
Disable Goals
If you don't want to set goals for your program, you can disable it. The Properties dashboard will not display the Goals widget if it is not configured for the program. Click on the Enable Goals toggle button to disable this setting.
