Enabling Resource Demand
To enable Resource Demand for an Initiative Classification:
- Navigate to the Administration
- Select Classifications from the Admin menu
- Scroll down to the Initiative Classifications section and click the 'Edit' button next to an initiative classification
- Under the General Configuration tab, select 'Enable Resource Demand'
- Select the Available Resource Types you want initiatives of this classification to be able to utilize
Note: Removing a selected resource type or disabling the 'Enable Resource Demand' setting will delete any existing resource demands from initiatives that hold this classification.
Creating Resource Demand
To create a new Resource Demand:
- Navigate to the Resource Demand register and click the '+ New Resource Demand' button
- Alternatively, select 'Resource Demand' under the Quick Create menu
The following sections will be available when creating a resource demand:
Properties
- Resource Type: Select the resource type that you require for your project.
- Start/End Date: Define the duration that you require this resource type for.
Resource Preferences
- Custom Fields: Specify any additional capabilities you require from this resource type (eg. they must be in the APAC region). This will help the resource manager allocate the people who best match your project's requirements.
After specifying the Properties and Preferences, you will be able to define the time phased demand required for your project.
Once the demand is saved, an approval request will automatically be sent to the assigned approver(s) defined under the workflow. You can optionally send a comment to the approver(s).

After a resource demand has been allocated named resources by the resource manager, the 'Allocated Resources' section will display to indicate who is available to assign to Schedule tasks and help deliver the project.
