Reviewing Your Benefit
The Benefit Dashboard gives you an overview of your Benefit. You can view details such as its start and end date, owner, measurement unit, frequency of measurement or resolution and whether its returns are negative or positive.
A graphical representation of the benefit percentage progress can be seen at the end of the properties section on the left-hand side. On the right-hand side, you'll see the benefits realisation graph. It shows the progress of the returns (in plan, actuals and forecast) over the period between the benefit's start and end date. Hover over a bar for a certain period to view the benefit values for that period.
When the benefit is part of a business case and is included in the baseline of this business case, the baseline of the benefit will also be shown in the graph. The baseline is the planned benefit at the moment the baseline was recorded. You can update the baseline at any time using the option available on the hamburger menu.
When a Benefit isn't part of a Business Case, the dates in the Benefits Delivery section (below the graph) are the same as on the Benefit. When a Benefit is part of a Business Case, the business case dates will be displayed here instead of the benefit dates. When a Benefit starts early or is delayed, because of the project schedule, the new start date will be shown in green or red.
Recording Plan, Actual and Forecast Values
A simple benefit's Plan tab allows you to record plan or actual values for the benefit's active period. If the benefit classification is configured to allow advanced measures, you can access those measures, record measure values, add new measures, or adjust the benefit calculation formula. Refer Measure Benefits section for more information.
Viewing Contributing Initiatives
The bottom of this dashboard will show any contributing Initiatives, and their progress status, (these are self-appointed by the user, Amplify does not automate them.
Appointing Risks to Your Benefit
The panel below shows any Risks appointed to this Benefit. You can create new Risks to link to this benefit by clicking on the New button.
Viewing Pending Approvals
If your benefit goes through an approval workflow, you will be able to track the approvals in the Pending Approvals panel.
Viewing Benefit History
Among the other buttons on the far right, you will find the History button. History documents any change that has occurred to the Benefit over time. This tab displays the audit history corresponding to approvals, archival or ownership changes, moves, comments, document attachments, or any modifications that happened on the benefit record. Various filters can be found at the top of this dashboard, allowing you to limit the information shown quickly. This dashboard will also show the history of its Measures.
Moving Your Benefit to Another Initiative
The hamburger menu on the right-hand side allows you to move your benefit to a new initiative.
Archiving the Benefit
The hamburger menu also features a button to archive the benefit.
Clicking on it will move the benefit to an archived state. Restore and Delete buttons will become available on the benefit's dashboard after it's been archived.
